Processing European Immigrants

If someone came through New York City from England in 1949, what facility would they have been processed at? This person is still living and she believes she came through Ellis Island. Is that possible? Thank you.

  1. Here is a site with some information for you. It sounds doubtful that the lady passed thru Ellis Island in 1949, but not impossible. The following site will explain some of practices used in that time period, as established after the war.

You might also check Steve Morse's website, he is considered a expert on searching the Ellis Island site.

You have probalbly checked on Ancestry, but be sure to read their citation information.

Let me know if you need help.
