I'd like to start a thread wherein members could state their desires as to future program topics. I won't necessarily follow-through on all requests but it would be helpful to me as Program Director to know what members would like to hear in our monthly programs.

Good idea Jerry! I'd like to suggest someone a few of us saw at the Family History Expo in Bellevue late last year. I'm going to have to search for her card but she's from the Seattle Public Library and her talk was on Fakes, Frauds and Forgeries. It was very enlightening and not a topic we've ever had (at least since I've been a member.) Mel, Marilynn, Harriet, Maureen and I all attended and I think I'd be safe in saying we all thought it was very informative and interesting.

ReplyDeleteI don't know if this deserves a whole program of its own, but I've wondered if there are resources that can help identify the approximate year of a photo from hairstyles, clothing fashions, photographic technologies, and other clues that may be in photos. Was this already covered in our spring seminar?
ReplyDeleteOur last seminar featured Colleen Fizpatrick who calls herself a forensic genealogist. She is an expert in dating photos, among other things.
